Rockford Aviators

The Rockford Aviators were a professional baseball team based in Rockford, Illinois. Formerly, the Aviators were a member of the Frontier League. The franchise operated from 1993-2008 as the Chillicothe Paints, an original member of the Frontier League. After not playing in the 2009 and 2010 seasons, the franchise was moved to Loves Park and operated as the Rockford RiverHawks in 2011 and 2012. The team was renamed the Aviators on January 27, 2013. In 2011, the Aviators moved into their most recent home, Aviators Stadium, located in Loves Park, Illinois.
==History==
The Aviators franchise was relocated from Chillicothe, Ohio, where they were known as the Chillicothe Paints, to Rockford in time for the 2011 season after the former Rockford RiverHawks franchise moved to the Northern League in 2010 and folded following that season. The club operated as the RiverHawks for 2011 and 2012 before changing the name to Aviators.
The Rockford Aviators (including years as the Chillicothe Paints) went to six league championship series, but never won a Frontier League Championship.
